Corvette Promotionals for 2000
AMT appears to have withdrawn from the promo market but fortunately Revell has stepped in to provide models that should be eagerly awaited by collectors.
Expected in early spring :
A limited production of only 3,500 cars for each color is planned so order early. The Nassau Blue may prove to be the real collectible of the three. This is the first time that the hard top has been available as a snap style kit and Corvette is discontinuing the color after this year.
Expected in late spring :
This should prove to be the most collectible promo of the year as production is limited to 2,000 sets. It will include a convertible, coupe and hardtop and all will be finished in Aztec Gold. This was meant to be a factory color in 1998 but was discontinued after only 15 cars were painted due to paint application problems.
Expected in the early fall :
With their 1953/54 cars of the late 90's AMT proved that retro promos could be popular and Revells first attempt in this area will certainly be equally successful. The colors have yet to be announced but expect a pair of coupes. This will be a new mold and the first time that Revell/Monogram have released a 63 Corvette in this scale. Revell will also be releasing this kit in their Wheels of Fire Snaptite range around the same time as the promos.
