The excess aftermarket styling ideas of the 70's are well portrayed by this kit with its bulged fenders and hatchback roof. While this kit has been released in several variation I’m using the 1993 reissue based on the original mold for this build.
The custom front and rear clips did not fit well and required shims and filling. I finally chose to eliminate front and rear seams completely. The add on fender pieces also required putty to ensure a good fit, I hope the real car pieces didn’t fit so badly. While the hatchback unit is a separate piece allowing it to be mounted open I’ve glued it closed since the thin side posts on mine were warped. At this point the body has been painted MM Kiln Red Metallic and the interior dark red. The chassis and engine have also been painted. Paint detailing of the body, interior and wiring of the engine compartment remain to be done.
