Kit Review
Austin Powers Corvette Convertible
Revell #85-2333

Review:
Lets get Shagadelic, baby ! And with that we are introduced to Revells most recent reissue of their 1967 convertible, first released in 1995. The pros and cons of this kit are well known, so it is sufficient to say that it is molded in white plastic but in all other ways is identical to its previous releases.
Having not seen the movie on which this model is based I cant comment on the accuracy of the color scheme but a 7 ½ x 5 ½ decal sheet provides the red stripes and white stars required of the box art scheme. The blue background of the flag will need to be painted but the instruction sheet refers to it only as gloss blue. The most difficult part of the color scheme will be to determine where to mask for the blue. Some sort of peel on/peel off mask would have been useful. Two side views, a rear view and a top view drawings are provided to help with the complex decal placement.
A nicely painted and proportioned Felicity Shagwell figure is provided with the kit. I can see this figure showing up in numerous dioramas over the next few years as everyone from street walker to teenager at the drive-in.
Final Comment:
As I commented in my review of last years Collector Tin 67 you will be paying a premium price for this kit so if youre just looking for a 1967 convertible pick up the original kit instead. On the other hand I can see this kit with its partner kit the Shaguar becoming quite the collector pair in the years ahead so buy a pair and put them away for your kids.
