2005 Coupe
The C6 debuted in the 2004 Detroit Auto Show. Later, the convertible was announced in Geneva. The C6 is not a radical departure from the C5. The frame, chassis and many other components were upgrades based on the C5 platform. Externally, one of the biggest changes is the exposed headlights, ending a tradition that started back in 1963. The C5 was most likely the last production car in the world to use hidden headlights. The engine is the new LS-2, a 6.0 liter small block from the Gen-III family of engines. It produces 400 HP and 400 lbs/ft of torque.

Following are Phil's comments about this build: "I sort of relate the revolutionary changes between the Corvette C5 and C6 to those between the C2’s and C3’s. After all the C6 is the first return to exposed headlights since the last of the C2’s. In 1963 I was blown away to see on the cover of the May issue of Rod & Custom magazine a brand new Stingray split-window modified by Big John Mazmanian with a House of Color pearl based candy red paint job, polished Torque-Thrusts, shaved emblems, a custom grill and chromed engine components, so I decided to do the same to the Revell Corvette C6 Coupe. The paint is House of Color Candy Persimmon over white with Tamiya Pearl Clear over top. The wheels and tires are from the Monogram ’59 Corvette. Alclad was used to chrome the engine components. The stainless steel grill is made from an electric razor foil."
