Corvette Model Gallery

Racing

The earliest documented effort to race a Corvette was in 1954 when a stock Corvette was entered in the "Carrera Panamericana" in Mexico.  Modified Corvettes for racing have been around since 1956 when Zora Duntov put Corvette into the racing scene from Daytona to Sebring.  In 1962 Chevrolet Engineering decided to go after Carroll Shelby's Cobra,   with the Z06 Corvette and evolving to become the Corvette Grand Sport. The Sting Ray model years were also wild and exciting... with drag racing, both on the streets and at the drag strip and weekend SCCA competition.  Sharks raced in IMSA circuits and around the world, and the C4 provided the Corvette Challenge. The C5R broke new grounds in racing and today, we have the C6-R; an awesome machine that defies description...
