2000 Convertible

For the millennium year, the Corvette lineup returned with the same three models:  Coupe, Convertible and Fixed Roof Coupe or hardtop.  Since the 1999 model year was a success and virtually sold out all year long, no major body styling changes were made.  New for 2000 were aluminum 5 spoke wheels available in a painted finish as standard equipment or highly polished as an option.  The magnesium wheels were still available as an option.  Two new colors were added to the palette for the 2000: Dark Bowling Green Metallic in honor of the Vette's assembly plant's home town and the new Millennium Yellow, which became a very popular  color.  Torch red was now available as an interior color.  The Z51 performance handling package was improved and the active keyless remote entry was now standard.  The passenger door lock cylinder was deleted.

The model:

Don built this clean convertible using the Revell snap as a starting point.

The side trim was added and you can see the custom license plate.
