Callaway Speedster

Reeves Callaway , founder of Callaway cars, started with aftermarket turbo modifications in 1977 on many different cars.    In 1986,  after doing a run of 50 Special edition Corvettes for Malcolm Konner,  he reached an agreement with Chevrolet to build Twin Turbo Corvettes as a factory option.  RPO B2K debuted in the 1987 model year.  This option was available from 1987 thru 1991.   At the 1991 LA Auto Show, Callaway introduced a Speedster which was his most outrageous offering. It started as a ZR1, painted  bright green, and had a severely chopped windshield, no side mirrors, 18 inch wheels and a vibrant blue leather interior stitched purposefully from Germany.    The car had 450 horsepower.
Aside from the twin turbos, Speedsters had  coil over suspension , adjustable shocks, a Brembo brake package and massive 3 piece Oz racing wheels. Paul Deutschman designed the car. Despite and an initial planned production of 50 examples, only 12 Speedsters were manufactured.
