SR - 2K
Tony Willing sent pictures of this interesting concept. What if you combine the SR-2 racer from the 50's with the C5? Well, you get the SR-2K
The model
Tony used the Revell snap C5 convertible kit as a starting point. The following quotes are Tony's on his model:
"Since I work for R&D Unique, I was able to pick through the parts bins for the bits to pull this model off. The SR-2 fin is from our resin kit of the SR-2, and the wheels are our pewter cast Halibrand kidney beans with pewter knock-offs. Parts box Recaro seats and a cut down windshield help with the 'racy' look, and the side spears are Bare Metal foil. The Corvette crests on the spears are from the Testors/Bburago 1/43rd scale C5 kit-- they are waterslide decals. Paint is Krylon Cherry Red, from the can, and the white stripes are white decal stock."
"The license plate was made on my PC"
Comments:
This is a nice concept that looks really interesting. Tony did a good job at blending the classic SR-2 cues with the C5 lines.
