2001 Convertible
For the 2001 model year, the biggest news was the arrival of the ultimate enthusiast's Corvette: The Z06. This evolution of the fixed roof coupe had the new LS-6 engine, putting out 385 horsepower. But the coupe and convertible were not neglected. They got a HP increase from 345 to 350 horsepower and upgrades in both manual and automatic transmissions. The convertibles received new double thickness twill material tops with revised weather stripping, all in the quest of reducing noise.
The model:
Jeff Robinson from Canada built this Revell convertible to represent an ’01 Magnetic Red roadster belonging to a fellow from the Spokane Washington, USA Corvette club. He added all the ‘chrome’ under the hood and made an exact replica of this personalized license plate. He used model Master paints on this build.
