The Best Yet - 1997 thru 1999
The C5 design was started in 1988.. a continuation of design objectives from the C4's and also to incorporate newly required Federal regulations into Corvette. GM was in chaos during 1992 with a slumping national economy and poor management decisions, the future did not look very bright for Chevrolet or Corvette. There were rumors of Corvette disappearing from the corporate roster. Dave Hill, Corvette's Chief Engineer, proceeded to make the Corvette C5 a world class sports car... we now have the best ever Corvette!
