2000 C5-R

In its time, the C5R was  the most successful factory Corvette racing effort in history.  The program started back in 1998, and it first raced in 1999.  Pratt and Miller builds the car, based on factory frame rails. The engine is prepared by Katech, and it is currently a 7 liter masterpiece. The Corvette C5-R won the GTS class in the 69th Le Mans 24 hour endurance race held in France in 2001. This factory race car is based on the Corvette’s hydroformed frame rails. The body is carbon fiber composite. NACA duct to the rear for the transmission and differential oil coolers.  For the 2000 season, the car used a yellow / white scheme.  Ron Fellows, Chris Kneifel and Justin Bell drove car # 63 to a 4th place finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.

The model: Hessel Van Der Zee built this nice Revell C5R in the 2000 Le Mans scheme.
