1985 Coupe
Many of the problems that always seem to plague a first year model had been addressed with up to 47,000 cars being recalled for various problems. The critics of the 84 were also being listened to. The harsh ride was softened and the dash changed to make its information more easy to read. The most important change had occurred under the hood. True fuel injection returned for the first time in 20 years and the results were immediately noticeable with increased gas milage, more horsepower and improved engine management. Externally it is very difficult to determine the difference between a 84 & 85 without opening the hood, check the black rub strip above the fender gills. In 84 it said Cross-Fire Injection but with the new L98 motor it was changed to Tuned-Port. For a different color choice slightly more than six thousand owners chose one of three two-tone combinations but starting in 84 the largest number of buyers chose Red and this would continue throughout the history of the C4. Finally it seems "all Corvettes are red."

Ismael sent in these pictures of a 1985 coupe built from Monogram's # 1410 snaptite kit.. take a really good look at how much detailing went into this model..
The model sits at just the right height... and the hood alignment is great.
More great engine compartment detailing.. and wish I could see more of the interior..
Those cast wheels really standout.. can't believe this is a snaptite kit!
